Hi,

I have a cooler master hyper 212x on my cpu, and the fan was very noisy.

I went into the bios, and the only fan speed setting I could find was one called “CPU Min.Fan Speed       [xx%]”

This was set to 80%, which I guessed means that the fan is not allowed to spin at less that 80% it max. speed.

I was about to set this to 0%, so the fan could spin at whatever speed it wanted to, but I heard on a forum that this may cause my motherboard to not detect the fan, and not boot.

I don’t see why this would be true, but I wanted to confirm first, so I don’t mess my motherboard up.

Thanks.

dude just try setting it to 25%. there is no way you can not make the system detect the fan without damaging the fan or fan or mobo connector. if you were to mess up something in the BIOS settings you can always just press the BIOS reset button if you cant access the BIOS anymore
