How long more do you think sony will support the ps3 and let people download from the ps store on ps3? i got a ps3 slim recently and wondered how long online support will last.

I am surprised it still works, personally. It is over 10 years old. I recently picked up a slim and went and preemptively downloaded everything I needed just in case.

Good question... My guess would probably be around 2020 at the latest. Some games this year are ending support like GTA 5 stopped releasing patches, Final Fantasy XIV stopped their support a long time ago, DC Universe (I think that's what it's called) are ending their support in 2018.

 

Edit: As far as online content that you purchased, who knows what Sony will do with that. Hopefully they work something out that will make people happy.
