GPU freezing help

ok so i have an evga gtx 550 ti and every now and again (once a week) my PC freezes for about 3 mins the resumes but a few times iv seen a driver error pop up on the windows bar but iv updated my drivers and everything and its bugging me and one last thing i also get disconnected from the internet when the screen freezes 

but yea if anyone can help that would be great

What are your system specs?

Does the card overheat?

Do any other strange things occur?

have you tried completely uninstalled nvidia drivers rebooting and reinstalling them?

maybe also undo your overcloock if you have one?

i have tryed uninstaling yes

no overheating its cool

all that happens is the screen freezes and dosent move again for 3 mins then i get an nvidia driver error that says that the driver stopped working :L 

 

My spec :

CPU:  i5-3570k

PSU:  650wat 

motherboard: asus thing (cant remember but its no the motherboard )

ram:   corsair vengance 8gb

hdd:4 western-digital 250 gb (not in raid)

case: x11 advanced station

network card : tp-link 300mb

but whats realy strange is that if im downloading a steam game and watching youtube its 99% likley to do the crash thing :L and thats got almost nothing to do with the gpu so im completely clueless
