Wi-Fi Cards

Hello,

I live in Australia and recently got a computer for my birthday. It's pretty good for what I do on a day to day basis but there is one problem on it, I rely on Wi-Fi as internet as my PC is in my bedroom and my router is on the other side of the house so I can only get an Ethernet connection for my PC which would mean running an ethernet cable from one side of the house to the other.

Does anyone out there have some cheap Wi-Fi cards you could suggest?

Thanks,

Spencer

not to be an ass but with australian internet an old wireless b card would be fine

on a serious note, a usb adapter where you can change out the antenna should be fine https://www.amazon.com/TOMTOP-300Mbps-Wireless-Adapter-External/dp/B00PXYH8LW

only issue ive ever had with wifi adapter is when they are to close to the actual machine

Rather than a cheap WLAN NIC, I would look into Powerline. It's often faster and more reliable than WiFi if you're doing it on the cheap, though the performance of it depends on the quality of the wiring in the house, the length of wire between the two powerline adaptors and how much interference there is on the lines being used.

Have you looked into powerline ethernet? It's a system that uses your houses electric wiring to transfer internet connections. In the right circumstances can be much better than anything wireless. It's a good middle ground for people who don't have access to regular ethernet. I know a few friends who have it.

Powerline ethernet is a much better option if your houses electric wiring suffices.
