I’ve just finished building my pc however when I plug it in all of the lights on the motherboard light up, all the fans (including cpu & GPU) start to spin but then the pc just sits there with a black screen.

I have put a drive with an OS already installed inside the system and my gtx 970 but other than that everything is new

Can you post an image of the back of the system where everything is connected? (ideally one that's in focus and the right way up :D)

EDIT: Also, I really like the colour scheme of your build. Nice and subtle orange/gold with mostly black/grey

Just left for work, I will when I get home in 2-3 Hours

what are you looking for I may be able to tell u if it’s right or not

Also, I ordered the TUF board for the IO shield more than the colours, I liked the yellow accenting but the LEDs were a surprise

Checking what video outputs you're using and if there's any adaptors.

Full system specs would help too.

Most of the stuff we'll suggest for troubelshooting video outputs is a matter of "try this" Doesn't work? "okay, then try this", so it's best if you're by the computer to try things as they're suggested.

First thing I'd suggest would be trying to use DVI or Displayport to see if those work. I'd also try resetting the CMOS to see if it posts after that. If the board supports USB Falshback for BIOS updates, I'd try updating to the latest BIOS.

Another bit of info that I dunno is relevant with my pc before if it was plugged into my monitor by HDMI it would boot fine but if I had my pc plugged into my TV the pc wouldn’t boot and the fans would spin up for a second and then power off again and that would just repeat itself over and over again. Because my GPU fans are doing the same thing when I turn it on, they’ll spin up for a second then turn off and repeat

Is it only the GPU fans or all of them? If it's all if them, the PC is failing POST and repeatedly trying to boot. If you have another display the system will boot with, then at least we know the system works.

It’s just the GPU fans that stop, it hard to do a similar thing in my old  PC sometimes all the other fans stay on. I have an old GT 730 I could swap in and try too

Putting the GT 730 in along with the 970 (if it boots with the 730) may be a good idea to install drivers and swap connections over to see if you can get it to boot

Got it into BIOS with the GT 730 however it is detecting only my SSD in the boot priority devices however if u open the boot menu I can see my HDD but it just throws me back into bios if I select it

Does the HDD have an OS installed?

Make sure the SATA controller is set to whatever was on the old motherboard (likely AHCI).

I've actually got to go to work now myself (late shift tonight). You may be better off creating a new thread for the issue with the HDD and GPU as it's unlikely people are going to jump in on this thread now that it's off the recent threads.

It's on AHCI already.I tried that. And yes the drive has windows 10 installed. I'm going to just re-install it and buy a new key if I have to.

Hopefully the GPU issues will be fixed with drivers. Thanks for the help, have a nice night at work.
