LG Optimus G Wifi stopped working.

Hi guys,

 

Recently I upgraded from my Nokia Lumia 800, to an LG Optimus G. (E975 Intl)

When I got the phone I rooted, unlocked, installed recovery (TWRP) and then installed Cyanogen Mod.

Everything was working fine for a month.

 

2 Days ago I was using the phone and the WiFi stopped working.

The Icon disappeared out of the notification bar, When I go to the Wifi settings page the Icon is grey, It finds wireless networks, Comes up as Connecting and then... nothing.

It just says Saved, Secured with WPA.

 

NFC also appears not not work now. Same story Icon doesn't Appear, does not function.

 

So what I've tried.

Factory Reset. : No go.

Re-flash Cyanogen Mod. : No go.

Flash Kernel. : No go.

Re-Flash Recovery (TWRP). : No Go

Flash CWM Recovery. : No Go

Flash Stock KitKat. : No go.

Different Apps that claim to fix Wifi. : No go.

 

So by this point I'm starting to think that the problem might be a physical fault...

Then I noticed I could use the Wireless hotspot on the phone and that functions correctly, So it can't be a physical fault.

 

So does anybody have any ideas of how I can fix it.

 

Now I can erase a lot of stuff on the phone. But I can't seem to completely Wipe it and start from scratch I think there is something wrong with the Wireless Configuration files. But even when I do a complete format/erase a lot of files remain on the device.

Is there a way I can completely erase the device and start from scratch.

 

I've tried to install the LG Mobile Support tool, The progress bar begins to fill up then it just disappears and nothing happens.

I was going to try and recover it to LG's stock state but without getting the software to install I can't do it.

Also I can't get their Stock ROM from the website, it keeps telling me access is denied when I try to download it. http://www.lg-phones.org/official-stock-lg-optimus-g-firmware-rom.html

 

If anyone has any Ideas please let me know. I've currently gone back to my Lumia 800.... ITS SOOO SLOW, Its driving me insane.

 

The mobile network Speeds where I live are TERRIBLE, So downloading stuff from the playstore is painstakingly slow.

If there is a link to download an APK or Zip (to flash) I can download it on my PC and adb push it to the phone.

Hey, I am having a similar problem. Rooted and unlocked optimus g e971. I flashed cyanogenmod 10.2 and started having an audio problem, I couldn't hear the other party on the phone so in reading up someone on another forum suggested flashing an up to date radio so I tried it. Not only did that not fix the audio issue but it messed up the radio so it wouldn't connected to my carrier. I had to KDZ back to stock and everything seemed fine so I re Rooted and flashed cyanogenmod 11 and now my wifi won't connect. It will turn on and off but just shows saved, secured etc. Not sure if there is a fix for this or if I just need to revert back to an os that the wifi works on. I also tried hot spot but I couldn't see it on other devices.
