Looking for a new case fans

Hi there.

I have a fractal design define r4 case for like 3-4 years and its rear and front fans started to make some nasty noise.

It's like some 'trrrrr' and 'aghhhh' sounds.

As you have already guessed, I'm willing to replace them, but I don't wanna go with something rubbish, neither I wanna spend much on this.

So, the question is, what are some best bang for the buck silent fans nowadays?

Thanks.

I would get something from bequiet! or Noctua(although I hate to say it). If you can stretch a bit, get Corsair ML series fans.

Noctua is a bit on a 'expensive' side, but this is the easiest way to go.

Will look at the bequiet products, thanks!

Yes Noctua are tops.

The fan going 'trrrrr' is not bad but I'd watch the one going 'aghhhh'.

Yeah, but it's peacing me off.

Those stock case fans will find their new life in another rig, where silence is not #1 priority.

Another 'plus' for noctua team.

Thanks for your help.

Are you sure it's the fans and any hdd's? Does stopping the fans with your hands stop the noise?

Yeah, it's the fans. I tried to switch off my hdd, and there was not much difference.

When I take out this front 'cage' with fans mounted to it, and move it a bit, the sound changes. And there's not much vibrations, when it's outside. Switching off every fan except psu makes it a lot more quieter.

Btw, I have cats and this fan behavior can be due to some fur got inside. I clean the filters every day though.

Where are you shopping/located? Budget? What are your specs?

In Russia. It would be great to fit in $40, but if Noctua is the only way to go - it's ok.

As for the specs, it's i5 2500 with some thermalright 'silent' cooler, seasonic s12g 650w, msi gtx 760 2gb, corsair ssd, wd blue hdd (7200 rpm), case - fractal design define r4 (w stock fans). Thanks.

A pair of 140mm's at the front for intake and a rear exhaust would be good.

Depending on how much you prefer to spend, some good options include:

Just in case someone will be searching for same info and will vistin this thread:

I went with gelid 14 fans - great, they're quieter, same level as new fractal design fans. Though another issue appeared - the case sidepanels are not properly fit to the case itself, so they tend to make buzzing noise. I've heard this before, but I thought it was all about fans. Bending sidepanels helped a bit. Thanks everyone for helping me out with this.
