290x worth it for mining?

Wasn't sure where to put this but is it worth it to put my 290x to mine bitcoins? It would roughly get at a hashrate of 800khs.

If you also plan to play video games from time to time, yes. 

If you plan to use it later (but not now) for your gaming rig, then yes. 

If you plan to resell it and not run it ragged (overclock the hell out of it), then yes.

If just using it for mining and will get everything you can out of it for mining (overclock the hell out of it), then no. Buy a 290 or 280X or 7970 or 7950. All valid choices and that's from worst to best KH/s/price ratio.

Oh, and like everyone above me, mine LTC. Not BTC. And maybe mine FTC. Eh. Up to you.

My settings with my 290X:

-g 2 -I 20 --thread-concurrency 32765 -v 1 -w 256 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-memclock 1500 (this is not so high that it is damaging) --gpu-engine 900 (underclocked, love it) --gpu-fan 57 (loud) --no-submit-stale

So yeah. Good luck with that.

No its not worth it, you probaly wont be as profitable, you would rather get 2 280x's more khs per doller

BTC mining is pointless unless you use ASIC.

800khs that wont even let you break even ,if you bought the card specifically for that purpose....but looks like you play games on it.....so its all cool! also it would depend mostly on your electricity cost! difficulty is too dam high...better to go the LITECOIN way!
