I am ready to start purchasing all the parts for my PC. Would like any last minute toughts on what I have right now.  This is my first PC gaming rig.

Here is the list I have: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/gvByJV

Additional Details:

I want to stay modest with my PC, but at the same time get something reasonable with longevity. I wont be doing much crazy things with it probably around <30 hrs of gaming during the week.

Suitability for overclocking, yes or no?

As for cooling how much should I be concerned about it reaching high temps with overclocking? I plan to adding a fan, case I have listed comes with 2. Love the case as it is minimalistic with plenty of “basement storage”.

The power source that is in the list, EVGA 500w 80+ certified, I already have was given to me. I have a 1 TB 3.5" for extra storage.

Wireless connection will be permanent.

Any tips on peripherals, and monitors.

Firstly Overclocking. Yes everyone will say it's worth it and should be done if you can pull it of, but for the CPU that you have I would recommend keeping it on a low until it gets a bit older. A base clock of 3.6 for the 6 cores that you have is pretty good.

Secondly Peripherals and monitors. Pretty basic answer, but it all comes down to what you're wanting to do with your build. In this case for gaming I would suggest a monitor with a basic resolution and a high response rate eg: 1080P (1980x1080) 144Hz. Although, this isn't to say anything lower than 144Hz would be bad it just depends if you're planning on playing any compentative games.

Hope this helped.

Good luck with your build.

That was my plan for overclocking, set it up as default, and then later on work on the overclocking. I will be playing games at mostly 1080p, GSGO PUBG and other FPS, rocket league, overwatch. I figure I save on the graphics and upgrade later and a 1060 gtx 6b fits me well right now.

What resolution and framerate will you game at?

1080 60fps, but I will for sure like to get the best of what this build will get me. I replied to another comment, and I think maybe in a few years I'll jump to a 1080 gtx 8gb or something.

In a few years, volta will be out btw but you won't be able to upgrade your cpu if you get coffe lake now. I recommend getting an r5/1070 or r5/1080 now, because you can afford it, and moving to ryzen 2.0 in a year if need be.

I would recommend getting a 1080p 144hz TN panel based on your build. I have an Acer XF240H 24" which I got on sale for $199.  Peripherals are pretty subjective on which ones to get. Stick to main brands like Corsair, Logitec, Razer, Steel series ect. Definitely look for a mechanical keyboard, you may have to research which type of keys you want first. There are ways to get sample packs to test them or go to your local best buy. Mice, get whatever is comfortable for you. Most gamers choose a wired mouse with an optical sensor, and again stick with known brands.
