Posted November 10, 2017 Before I get into the actual meat of this post, why isn't there a dedicated forum for VR here? Seems like something we should have. Anyways, now that I have a system that can perform well in VR (gtx 1070 and i7 7700k) I wanted to get into VR, however, I am indecisive of which platform I should choose, Oculus, HTC Vive, or wait until the pimax 5k/8k come out. So I was wondering what VR platform would you choose and why? Is one headset better for a different use case? I was also concerned that since the current headsets are a couple years old at this point, is it better to wait for something newer? I have also included a poll. Broke 14 Year old + No job + Love for Technology = Bad combo :( Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/858011-best-vr-platform/ Share on other sites
 I've heard people tend to enjoy the Vive's headset a bit more, but people have said the Oculus' controllers are a bit nicer. Either is fine. I should have also said that the Oculus is $400 right now and the Vive is $600. Although if im going with the Oculus I will probably get a third sensor for better room scale Broke 14 Year old + No job + Love for Technology = Bad combo :( Link to comment https://linustechtips.com/topic/858011-best-vr-platform/#findComment-10680410 Share on other sites
 Though, fair disclaimer, everything I've said should be a Secondary source. Haven't had any hands-on experience.
