Does anyone know ...

 

... if DisplayPort 1.2 supports 4K @ 60Hz without MST (Multistreaming + Tiling) ?

 

... if DisplayPort does support it, does any GPU on the market support 4K with a single stream?

 

... if any of the new Dells monitors supports 4K @ 60Hz over SST?

 

 

I really dislike the idea of those workaround solutions (i.e. tiling of 'two' monitors')  : /

Yep, GPUs support 4K over a single stream but at the moment it is hardware (the timing controller) inside the monitors that doesn't have the bandwidth for 'SST'. Estimates I've seen say around Q2-Q3 2014 is when they will have timing controllers with the required bandwidth.
