New PC build for me.

I was piecing a computer together and was wondering if I could get some advise as the parts I choose and if there would be any sort of issues.

Any help is great and appreciated!!

Aim : To have a VR ready machine with some extra power to some other games on high/max/ultra settings.

Price : Trying to stay around 2k

There's a massive power difference between your CPU and your GPU. If you want any semblance of balance, you need a better CPU- For a 1080 ti, get an i5 or Ryzen 5 at a minimum.

I thought there would be plenty of power in the CPU...

Wouldn't that require a new MB and ram?

The cpu is quite dated. As a result the motherboard does not support newer tech like DDR4, PCIe 3.0, M.2. OTOH, the platform is relatively inexpensive and reasonably powerful.

If you post a budget and requirements (see the pinned post at the top of the forum), you might get some suggestions for a better build.

Ahhh. Yes. I am an idiot. Edited**

Ty.

So would my CPU bottleneck my GPU with this exact setup?

Doesn't matter if it does, you are only playing at 1080p.

Thank you for taking the time and the reply's.

Would there be any issues with it being at 1080p? Or VR?

There is enough cpu power to exceed minimums but less than what is typically recommended.
