I downloaded a  sketchy program that one website i look on windows creator's update said should I download to detected errors for windows update and my norton said it was safe. It was a hoax and I used IObit unistaller to remove it and related files. Afterwords I deleted a file in windows call perflogs. I also updated my realtek speaker drivers two days ago. Then slept.

Next day I boot up i get an error that said desktop folder missing and my desktop was black with no icons then recycle bin appeared then chrome appear then chrome disappeared. I just thought to restart and then I get blue screen that loops with error code 0xc000021a. I boot safety mode.

I try start up repair, it couldn't repair my pc

Log file: C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

i unplugged everything except my mouse and restart, nothing.

i startup with enable low res vid mode, disable driver signnature.

Checked disks C: and no errors are shown on the command prompt and the last thing in the command prompt is "failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50".

i download onto my 16gb usb 3.0 usb drive https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10ISO from a friends place, windows 10 64bit.

I boot off usb drive, I click on repair, CMD.

I typed:

bootrec /fixMBR

The operation completed successfully.

bootrec /fixBoot

Access is denied

bootrec /rebuildBCD

Successfully scanned windows installations. Total identified windows installations: 0 The operation completed successfully.

??? Access denied, I'm admin, 0 installations?

then i did chkdsk C: /f samething happen as the first time i did it.

STOP: 0xC000021A

Cause

This error occurs when a user-mode subsystem, such as WinLogon or the Client Server Run-Time Subsystem (CSRSS), has been fatally compromised and security can no longer be guaranteed. In response, the operating system switches to kernel mode. Microsoft Windows cannot run without WinLogon or CSRSS. Therefore, this is one of the few cases where the failure of a user-mode service can shut down the system.

Mismatched system files can also cause this error. This can occur if you have restored your hard disk from a backup. Some backup programs might skip restoring system files that they determine are in use.

Resolving the Problem

Running the kernel debugger is not useful in this situation because the actual error occurred in a user-mode process.

Resolving an error in a user-mode device driver, system service, or third-party application:Because bug check 0xC000021A occurs in a user-mode process, the most common culprits are third-party applications. If the error occurred after the installation of a new or updated device driver, system service, or third-party application, the new software should be removed or disabled. Contact the manufacturer of the software about a possible update.

If the error occurs during system startup, restart your computer, and press F8 at the character-based menu that displays the operating system choices. At the resulting WindowsAdvanced Options menu, choose the Last Known Good Configuration option. This option is most effective when only one driver or service is added at a time. If this does not resolve the error, try manually removing the offending software. If the system partition is formatted with file allocation table (FAT), use an MS-DOS startup disk to gain access to the computer's hard disk. If the system partition is formatted with NTFS file system, you might be able to use Safe Mode to rename or delete the faulty software. If the faulty software is used as part of the system startup process in Safe Mode, you need to start the computer using the Recovery Console in order to access the file. If a newly installed piece if hardware is suspected, remove it to see if this resolves the issue.

Try running the Emergency Recovery Disk (ERD) and allow the system to repair any errors that it detects.

Resolving a mismatched system file problem: If you have recently restored your hard disk from a backup, check if there is an updated version of the Backup/Restore program available from the manufacturer.

--------------

possible fix can be

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment
This will cause a crash of this type on Windows 10. Windows 7 will close down without any warning or report.
This can be fixed by "Deleting" the (Default) entry (this will instead return it to (value not set).

System Restore is there to fix everything (assuming you didn't disable it or used a tool to clear the restore points).

It allows you to go back in time on your system (without affecting your personal files). You can go back several days/weeks back.

Simply boot from a Windows disk or USB flash drive, Pick your language, pick "Repair Windows" (or something like that) option instead of "Install", and you'll have a big menu show up, and you'll have the option to run System Restore. Juts follow the wizard, pick an older date, and it will restore it.

I am a really retarded man, I have never backed up my hdd or ssd. So now am I finished? because the other options that u listed I don't have a clue what to do. Should I go to a repair clinic or something? Should I just install a fresh copy of windows? Will my files be still there (I know you said it's just my CSRSS or WinLogon that compromised but, could that effect other files)? Please give me more options for I don't know how to self fix the problem at this point.

Hate to be that guy but I figure starting from the bottom and if that doesn't work we can go for longer methods. Is a fresh install an option?

What do u mean I don't understand and I don't think I can do a fresh install for my stuff on laptop is really important to me. Also I have 30 steam games (and my ISP is 40mb download 10mb upload)

u probably corrupted the windows , its still possible to save ur files by connecting the drive into another pc :) and then just format ur main drive... if u corrupted ur windows its a rly big hassle to fix somtimes tbh

Well an option is to either install the drive into another computer or to use a bootable linux partition and move everything to a flash drive before reinstalling.

Will this remove install programs or files on my hdd or m.2? This will only restore my past drivers, service, registry keys, etc, basically everything in the windows folder right?

Good idea though Linux is free, my computer is a laptop and there is no tear down guide so Im not risking it (not a DYI guy), I don't have a flash drive big enough (and too lazy to buy a drive or spend money on one).

Installed programs will be affected. It will tell you which files are affected. Correct,it will only restore Windows itself and the registry. You can undo a virus and malware attack that way as well (assuming the malware/virus in question doesn't delete or corrupted the restore points, which some do), and also undo password set and changes by remote "Windows Technical Support" scammers.

what u can try is installing another windows over the previous one, so u get one windows.old folder basicly

and one new installed windows and ul keep ur data on the drive

all u ahve to do is to install another windows over the current without formatting to be able to boot again :) and to recover files

I tried but it couldn't because something was wrong with windowsapps, I searched how to fix by rename it but my cmd didn't even find it so I tried other people's advice and I download another copy of windows so my current would be in window.old but now I'm stuck with a crash then 0xc000000f then I launch into aptio setup utility. I think I'm just gonna go to a Microsoft store on Saturday

Causes of this Error

This error has been known to occur as a result of one or more of the following:

Cause 1: BCD is missing or corrupt

One of the most common causes of this error is the BCD that became missing or corrupt. That could happen because of disk write errors, power outages, boot sector viruses, or errors made while configuring the BCD manually.

Cause 2: File system integrity compromised

For the same reasons, the file system itself may become corrupt or damaged. That happens even more often if one turns off a PC while it is in the middle of writing crucial data to the boot sector.

Cause 3: HDD data cable is faulty

Like all components of our PC’s, hard drive data cables tend to deteriorate as the time passes. If the same cable is used for several years(or even across several different computers), then it might be the cause of periodic read/write errors that can affect the loading process.

rebuild BCD might work, it can also be that ur hdd actually randomly died on u while installing the update tbh if u have a clean install and it crashes, even if its over the old one, it should work else smt else is up there
