Ehh, probably $150-200 bucks in wood and maybe 15 hours building it. Then probably 5 hours of two people sanding then the color and 3 coats of poly on the top.

Thought about it but not sure how I would wanna do it, it's cream and burgundy to match a lot of the country décor in the house.

Ah, that might be a bit limiting then, maybe a warm white to make the base brighter then rather than rgb -  ive always found adding some under or back glow, even white can make a big diff, but ive also only had easy white walls and modern rooms to deal with so yeah

Yeah, soft white probably wouldn't be bad.

Yeah, I'm in the middle of building my own desk. I had done previous woodwork; however, I underestimated the pain that warped wood causes. I just ditched staining the birch to mahogany-color and am instead just going to lay a sheet of glass above it for a flat surface. I've spent about 10 hours of work - and have about 3 to go.

The speakers on the left are actually one of the best sounding speakers I've ever heard.

yeah the most expensive part by far was the top piece. It was expensive due to the quality and was perfectly level to start. Still had to sand out the tiny little imperfections thought.

I could buy go buy whatever I wanted, not understanding your point. I needed small speakers for the space.

Since you'll only be running one pair of speakers at a time, why not just buy 1 good pair

I don't but it looks like a quality strip. The only thing I have Phillips is the 1 surge and it was maybe 15 dollars lol

lol, maybe not worth going in on hue for just one strip, i found this cheap single strip, it doesn't do much but it would let you try the look of an led strip in place
