GPU frequency toggles down while CPU and GPU Stresstest.

I´ve got my Computer now for about 2 years. Because i was interstet in Overclocking, I did so, and also did some Benchmarks.

Hardware: I7 6700k, Asrock Z170 extreme6, AMD R9 390 Asus Strix, 16GB Gskill 3000mhz RAM, Bequiet Dark Power pro 11 550w Psu, 3x Bequiet static pressure case Fans, Corsair h55 aio, smasung sm 951 nvme, 2 Tb 3,5inch HDD.

I havent got any kind of crazy other configuration which could consum huge amounts of power.

While using Furmark and Aida 64 CPU Stress Test, my GPU frequency drops Down. My current powertarget on the GPU is set to 150%, and my CPU is running at 4,4GHZ with slightly more voltage than default.

The maximum GPU Clock is while Aida 64 turned off 1070mhz, and while on it drops to abot 950mhz. GPZ-Z shows that the Power consumtion drops down too. The Framerate is dropping from 90 to about 60-62 fps.

I did some resarch and found out, that the PSU should have enuogh Power to do this.

I hope someone has an Idea to fix this Problem.

I can give further Information if needed.

A corsair h55 is a 120mm radiator right? That doesn’t give you a lot of headroom for overclocking. Sounds like thermal throttling to me. Let us know what your temps are like while doing that Aida64 test. For the record, a 240 radiator with a decent thickness is what you want for overclocking. It doesn’t have to be a monster just not one of those crappy slim ones. The graph in Aida 64 actually shows if you’re thermal throttling with a separate line so pay attention to that.
