I finished building my new pc and I’m trying to install windows and it worked the 1st time, plugging in flash drive, entering product key, and finally it said system is restarting for windows and it restarted but i had to go through the same process, entering my product key and stuff. It’s now saying a Windows can’t be installed on Drive 0 Partitian 1 or 2

That is because once it installs the computer restarts and boots back up to the USB stick instead of your drive. Unplug the USB stick and it should boot to Windows.

Alright so I’m on the “Where do you want to install Windows” screen and I can’t install to either partition. Should I just unplug the flash drive without continuing?

If you installed Windows already then I would just manually turn off the computer, pull out the USB stick, and then boot the computer back up.

Did you install a WiFi card or does your motherboard have built in WiFi? If not then you need to run an internet cable into the back of your computer from the router.

Also, where do I install it? I hope I don’t have to take the whole system apart

Or they should have one in basically any computer store if you have one near you that you could run out to.

Most common and probably best ones just take up a PCI slot and nothing more. Just pop off the side panel of your rig, push the card into a PCI slot, maybe secure the card with a screw and screw the antenna(s) on it and you should be good. There is a chance you will need to install some drivers that come with it to get it to work.

Does the speed matter? What should I ask for when I go to the store

I would ask for just a WiFi card for my desktop computer. I would steer away from USB ones and ask for a PCI card one. Just make sure you have a spare PCI slot on your motherboard. Also did you check first to make sure your motherboard doesn't have built in WiFi?

I don’t think it does, I saw a post about someone asking and someone said no. It’s a X370 Gigabyte Gaming 5

Went to Best Buy, they only have the USB ones. Going to frys now

Neither PCI or USB is really ideal. Running a wired connection would be the best long term solution. But for now, yes, if you can find a PCI WiFi card I would get it.

....damn..... way past my bedtime....

Frys has a bunch of crappy ones, were going back to Best Buy to just get a USB and order a PCI later and just return the USB. I’d love to put the router in my room but there’s not the appropriate cables for it.
