There is no "best GPU for a motherboard". What do you need the GPU for? Gaming? Editing? Rendering? Browsing or work?

buy an old used gpu such as a 6970 / 580gtx or somthing ?

A used gtx 750ti 2GB. The gt 1030 2GB, RX 550 2GB. used HD6970, gtx 770, r9 290, HD7850.

Go for the used market for a decent minimal gaming experience.

 

For editing, any GPU with at least 1GB of DDR5 memory will give you the same result.

There are lots of options available on the used market that provides a decent gaming experience on a budget. As @ErrantNyles mentioned about the 1GB GDDR5 memory, you can easily find a used HD 5850.
