So earlier today I got my second 1080 to put in SLI with my original, however now that it's all set up I can barely see any performance improvement what so ever. To be clear I'm using a 1080 FE, tricked out with a nzxt kraken g12, and corsair H90 AIO, and the second card is a Asus Strix 1080 A8G. I know that probably sounds stupid but I did do my research before and while I couldn't find anyone else who had done this exact combination, everywhere I looked said that it should have no problems as long as both cards fit, which they do, both cards are seated properly and the SLI bridge is slightly bent but works all the same. I should also point out that I've done testing with programs like Furmark(4K preset) where my SLI set up consistently almost doubles the score I receive with just a single 1080, but in games like Fallout 4, PUBG, and Battlefield 1, the performance is the same, and sometimes worse.

Here's a full list of all my relevant specs:

Intel 7700k @ 4.8Ghz

Asus Prime Z270-A

32Gb Corsair Veng. 2400Mhz

Corsair RM850x

1080 FE (with nzxt bracket, and corsair h90)

Asus Strix 1080 A8G

All games run at 4K on a Asus MG28UQ

One last bit of info, the SLI is recognized by the nvidia control panel, the system is totally stable, and both cards are overclocked and boost over 2000Mhz without any thermal throttling at all. If any of you out there can pick out anything I'm doing wrong, or give any advice it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading.

Are you using a flex bridge or a HB bridge for SLI?

Using the HB bridge that came with the mobo, like I said it's a little bent but as far as I can tell it's still working fine.

Personally I don't know then. This type of thing is exactly why I stopped doing SLI.
I had a similar problem with my 1080 sli.

FO4 should see the improvement. not sure about the others... Some games just aren't optimized for SLI (Like Doom 2016)

[FS][US] Corsair H115i 280mm AIO-AMD $60+shipping

I have 2 1080 ti´s in SLI and the only games that work are older games. and Sniper elite 4, that game is awesome in SLI! But sadly SLI is basically dead :/

What board comes with an hb bridge?

Not sure what improvement bf1 could see as one card runs it maxed out with over 120 frames. Havent tried that game since sli on 1080's as the cpu gets destroyed in most games I play.

As far as I know most, if not all Asus mobo's come with a stock HB bridge. It's just a bare pcb but it still does the trick.
