Snowball ice

Go to solution Solved by AAJoe,

Hi @Powesedor (Pedro Pereira)!

Sad to hear about your ModMic 4, we do have a 1 year warranty on it in case it was a defect that caused it to die!

So we often recommend using a USB interface with the ModMic because USB devices usually come with a built in noise filter. It would have solved your ModMic 4 problem and I'd be happy to throw one into your next purchase for free if you want to consider continuing on with the ModMic family.

That said, the Snowball will solve that problem without the adapter because it is a USB mic and that noise filter is built in. You just need an open USB port, no soundcard is required. Ideally don't put your mic on a USB hub, as that can add more noise.

Hope it helps, if you are interested in taking me up on the USB offer drop me a PM :)

Hi there guys,

So I'm about to buy a mic since my modmic v4 got broken. I wanted to change to desk mics but I know that they are more expensive so the one I had in mind was snowball ice since I only use it to stream and to youtube videos (about from Skype and stuff). One problem I had with modmic 4 was that although the mic sounded ok, since I had it plugged in to the motherboard I got a lot of static noise. Will the snowball ice solve this by itself? Will I need a sound card? Can I even connect it to a sound card since it's a USB microphone?

Thanks in advance guys

Hi there,

The problem with the mod mic was mine, I was the one that damaged the cable, and I know you solved it in the new version by making a smaller cable option.

I will consider because the modmic is more comfortable when recording because I don't have to be on top of the mic or have the mic in front of my face with a support.
