Motherboard issue

I'm  having a problem with my motherboard I have a Asus z170 Pro gaming. I had sent to Asus Rma because dimm Slot 2 and 4 had a shortage. I just received it back today and tried the Dimm configuration before putting it back in his case all Slots of recognize and every configuration but dimm two and four configuration does not recognize.

Do you mean that dimms works but only in one configuration?

How many ram modules are you using atm?

Im using two I can use a single ram and try every slot it will post but if I use both cards in slot 2&4  the computer will not post. If try other configuration swapping the ram in different slots the computer post.

That is a common behaviour. if you read your motherboard manual it actually says that. ram modules has to be placed in specific slots when they are only 2. I think your motherboard is fine (most likely).

thats funny if it works in slot 1 and 3 than it should work in 2 and 4. it doesnt matter which combination of slots you use as long as it works in dual channel. what kind of ram do you have? some mobos become very unstable if the ram from the vendor list is not specified to work in dual channel. if you tried all slots with one stick and they all work then there is probably a compatibility issue bettwen the mb and ram.

 

check the ram vendor list and see if iz is officialy supported:

Corsair Vengeance lpx 2400mz it was working perfectly for 8 montgs then started acting up..
