Hey I need some help

I'm confused on what to do,

So I just got my internet package upgraded to 250/30
I'm getting around 200 wireless, but when I use my home plugs and connect through the mains of my house, which runs to my computer upstairs i'm only getting around 50mpbs, any reason why?
Can it be my computer?
Can it be my cables / plugs?

Often, you won't see the highest speeds through Powerline, especially if your adapters are far away from each other.

They are really not that far from each other about 10 meters, When I go to look at my network status it only shows this http://prntscr.com/gkbo1t

should it be showing 1gbps ?

Your Powerline adapters likely only have 10/100 Mbps ports. That's pretty common. Can't you just use ethernet for that short of a distance?

Nope, because that would require us to drill all the way up stairs

Quote me when responding so I'll see your response. I've seen some advertised as 500 Mbps, but only have 10/100 ports. My Powerline adapters are like that.

Are you in an older house with old cabling? Since you're using powerline, I've heard it's been bottlenecked by bad wiring.

I have seen many of them hit 500+. They can hit it just dont cheap out on them and do research before. Like you said some have only fast ports.

No its physical limitation of the port 

 

The cause might be bad wiring or the power lines run close to something causing interference such as anything electrical or if there is high amount of power running through a wire.
