I just received my school computer and when I went to change my default search engine from Bing to Google there was an Icon next to it that said: "This setting is enforced by your administrator". I've tried looking around in settings for a quick solution but I can't seem to find one. All areas of settings that are enforced by admin are grayed out and don't respond to clicks. I am not an administrator on the school account or windows. The only solutions I've found online require a reg edit (which requires admin). I cannot re-install chrome because it is stated in my school's terms of use policy, however, this is not stated nor implied.

This is because your school wants you to use Bing - for whatever reason. When Chrome has an administrative policy like that, you can't change it. I'd just use another browser.

I don't think there is much that can be done about it. When our schools internet would die we would play the no internet dinosaur game which they soon blocked. Some schools can be very harsh on this stuff. Right now I am using my school laptop since I don't feel like carrying my other laptop, and the entire OS (Win 10 Home) is very locked down. Soon they might ban LTT forums from our network.

Maybe a bit off topic, but I've used bing a couple times. Overall I think It's results are honestly on par with google now. I still usee google primarly but really bing isnt bad if your stuck with it.

And bing with chrome is 5x better than google on edge
