You don't need DDU for Nvidia drivers. When you install Nvidia drivers, you have the options under "Advanced" to do a clean install.

Always get the latest drivers from hardware/chip manufacture. In your case Nvidia website: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us
(I recommend to install the drivers under Advand, and install only the drivers (video/audio) and not GeForce Experience and Nvidia 3D glasses stuff)

I don't understand the rest of what you are saying. The 1030 doesn't have a VGA connector from what I can see.

what i mean is that my old monitor had a vga input, and my old gpu also had a vga output but with my new gpu gt 1030, it dosnt have a vga output, basically, when i connect a dvi-d to my monitor, will i have screen tering?

Yes, if the V-Sync is disabled in your game or Nvidia Control Panel.

No, if the V-Sync is enabled in your game and/or Nvidia Control Panel.

Keep in mind that V-Sync will only TRY to keep your frame in sync with the monitor. Meaning if the GPU is not powerful enough to render what appears on the screen, and it can't even run at 30fps, most likely the GPU will ignore V-Sync. So assuming that the V-Sync was enabled before with your old GPU, but was worst performing than the 1030, then you should get V-Sync working now. If you had a GTX 980 before and switching to a 1030, then no, the situation will be much worst. The 980 is massively faster than the 1030. Under which case I would say your game settings where too much for the 980 or had drivers issues.
