GPU's for 5 displays

Go to solution Solved by Frankenburger,

You can use multiple graphics cards to power, in essence, as many displays that you want. Since gaming isn't a concern, it should be a pretty straight forward process. Just plug in both cards, plug in however many displays you want per card, and you should be good to go.

Hey all,

I'm in the market to get a couple GPU's to run 5 displays. 4 will be 4k. THIS IS NOT FOR GAMING. I DO NOT care about game performance, this just needs to be a computer that always runs the 5 displays. So my question, can I get away with buying a couple 1050's or so and just using them for the multi-display config? It's been awhile since I've bought any hardware so wasn't sure if I HAD to get something that was SLI capable, being that the 1070/80 are the only one's sli capable. Thanks!

You could use 5 monitors with external adapters with no GPU requirement whatsoever.

Take a look at the concept here... 10+ monitors with an intel NUC (a very small form factor pc)

Cheers!

For the sake of humoring me, could you answer my question? It's not my money, and it's not really my choice if we go with something else like a NUC+adapters. Thanks!

You dont have to use SLI or Crossifre for mutlie display setup* just grap cheap gpu's that can handle your job. You can even use Nvidia intel and AMD in 1 syteem to display multiple displays

*to a limit that is. Or if you want to make 1 big monitor (like 16K gaming from LTT)

1050 cant SLI, and SLI is not required for multiple monitors. Can it do it? Yes. Just like any other with those adapters i showed you.
