I am looking to get a 1tb ssd and i narrowed it down to the 840 evo and m500. My main question is, is there a real life noticeable difference using the rapid technology? I have 16gb of 1866 ram so it would use 4gb. If there is no real life benefit to rapid for mainly gaming I will save the move and get the m500.

 Quality is not what I am concerned about I am interested in real life performance.

I am concerned about the rapid mode actually making a noticeable difference. I have some say it makes a difference and say no it is just a benchmark booster. The m500 is 70$ cheaper which is why I am trying to find out if the rapid mode makes it noticeably better.

It's slightly faster, it's way more reliable, and it's a longer lasting drive.  That's all there is to say, the evo is the best price per gigabyte drive out there.

Right now though the m500 is about $.06 per gig cheaper.

Do you have a evo or are you just going off of online reviews and benches. I have done hours of research on the evo but can't find real life improvement info anywhere.
