Overwatch: random input unresponsiveness/lag

Heya folks, random question for you.

 

This one honestly has caught me off guard, never seen anything quite like it before - so while playing overwatch, sometimes right away, sometimes after like 10-20 minutes,  i get game-crippling input unresponsiveness/lag.

Same thing happens on my wife's pc, granted it happens alot less often on hers.

System monitoring shows cpu's not spiked, ram under 60%, hd activity well within limits, netmon looks good as well.
It literally feels like it is shuttering, but the monitor's fps tracker and in game monitors are fine.

 

PC breakdown:

i7-6700k - noctora d15 - /w moderate oc (like 15%, was stable up to 4.8 but i backed it down to be safe) 
2x16gb ram

Asus hero vIII alpha
512gb m2 Samsung 950 (game and os on this drive)

evga gtx 980 classified
Monitor : asus rog 279q /w gsync enabled

KB: Logitech 710+

Mouse: Logitech 903 (felt the problem on wired mice as well)

OS: win10 fast ring

 

Now the wife has had the same exact problems on win 10 (normal update cycle) on the i7-4790k /w a hero vII. 

It seems to help if i close chrome taskbar client specifically, but i still have it happen on occasion. 
 

Anyone else had this problem? It's been so bad lately that i just reboot my pc after i am done with it for work every day.

I've had this with Overwatch and strangely enough RTCW. Occasionally when I load up the game my keystrokes (not mouse) will get a 1-3 second delay. Very odd.
