Um what happens?

Just out of curiosity I have been running my stock amd cooler running on 100% fan speed and running it 24x7 the temperatures are quite nice now but I was wondering what happens if the fan dies would my system continue to run or will there be some kind of warning as I do not see any bios settings for a warning like that (like my old board had) currently running  Msi 990FXA-GD80

Once your fan dies, the cpu cooler is being cooled by the air flow of the case. It won't be long before the your cpu's temperature rises to reach TJ Max, which is when your computer just shuts off.

Usually there is a CPU fan detection for being plugged in or 0 RPM. It would just heat up and thermal throttle so nothing bad would happen
