I'm playing FTB beyond, every idk 30 sec or maybe longer my game will freeze up for 2-5 sec. im assuming its due to GC in java. i only have 4gb of ram allocated for mc, it was it 3gb but forge didnt have enough ram to load but at 4gb it does.

anyway to fix this? or know what the cause is if its not GC?

its worse in the location with my machines runnings. like my generator and stuff. when I go out and explore or mine it doesn't freeze up as often.

i can run every game AAA 60FPS+ on high and up btw. rig is not an issue. 16gb of ram

see if minecraft is using all of its ram then dumping everything when the threshold hits

for me, in FTB i allocated 4gb (settings says 8 but java doesn't like to fully allocate what i set it to so), and ram usage would stay at 2.7 - 3.2gb during gameplay, and when moving around it would jump up to 3.7GB slowly and then dump everything, lag slightly, and then go back to 2gb usage, then quickly spike up to 2.7 - 3.2gb

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

okay, so it says the cap is 3600mb. but at 3500mb of mem usage it will freeze then reset to 2700mb

it also says allocated 96% 3501mb under that stuff ^

yeah you need more ram allocated to minecraft

if you are running out of actual ram in your computer, google some tips on how to delete some mods that saves some ram, iirc hats take up 200MB of ram .. only do this if you're doing single player though, multiplayer will kick you out of the server because you don't have the same mod files as they do.
