Hey. Im planning on getting the 7700k

and now the question, 2400mhz or 3000 mhz or 3200 mhz ram?

2400 is CL15-15-15-35

3000 is CL15-16-16-35

3200 is CL16-18-18-38

Ive tried finding a comparison but its all for Ryzen.

They all cost about the same. Question here is will it give me slightly better lows? 4-7 fps better lows will be worth it as i'll get an 1080ti and on some games on 3440x1440p it'll have 55-57 fps lows, and that'd help.

thanks for the help

I have a 7700K at 4.8GHz with XMP set to 3200 on 32GB of Corsair memory.  With XMP off it is at 2133.  The difference with it at 2133 and 3200 is not noticeable in games.  Only on benchmark scores or rendering/encoding tasks.  With that said, if you want the best for your system and they cost the same, then get the 3200.

Take the fastest, the CAS is good so you won't take a hit there. Not many games advantage of extra ram speed, but the few that do (Fallout 4) really get a nice bump

So 16-18-18-38 is still super fast?

Not the 3000 mhz? It has very close CL compared to 2400

Cas has very little impact on Ryzen when compared to speed, AMD actually did some testing:

Why is everyone automatically thinking of Ryzen, i said 7700k not Ryzen. So why would the impact on Ryzen be important to me?

Cause I haven't seen any testing of CAS vs Speed for the 7700k, but I would expect the same/similar results on intel (albeit less dramatic)

Ah okay. So go for 3200 MHZ then? Even tho i worry that the cas may affect me even if it doesnt.

3200 at cas 16 will be much better than 2400 at 15.
