7770 getting hot while idle

Recently re installed windows. Just noticed that while im not doing anything on the computer at all. The GPU gets really hot. I just checked afterburner and it was up to 69 degrees. Its never even got that hot playing a game. As soon as i move my mouse and start doping things the GPU goes back down to normal idle temps. Latest drivers are installed. Any ideas?

Edit - Opened up Task manager and MSI Afterburner. Didn't touch anything. After 2 minutes exactly the GPU usage went up to 90%+ Temps and fan speed started to rise. This is while doing nothing at all but watching two windows. And it happens when there is nothing open as well. Currently un installing and re installing the 13.1 drivers. Will update after i can test again.

Update - re installed drivers. Still happening. 2 minutes of not touching the mouse or keyboard the GPU goes to 92% usage and the heat goes up. Any clue what could be causing this?

Disable/shutdown Adobe using task manager.

I have the same model 7770 you have and never had anything like this happen.

Either: the fan has broken, there's a lot of dust in there, the company you bought it from didn't fit the heat sink properly, you've bumped up the voltage by accident, there are cables blocking the intake fan. It's a very vague problem but these are just some ideas :)

the fan is fine. it works when it gets hot. temps have gotten to 69 degrees and the fan goes up to 53%. It fine while playing a game. never gotten that hot playing Arma 2. BF3. Tomb raider etc. Its only when doing absolutely nothing at all. and starts exactly 2 minutes after i stop doing anything.

Did you check to see what process exactly that has been using the GPU while idling, a person with a very similar issue made a post on the forum 2 days ago, and it turns out adobe was causing the high GPU usage while idling on his system.

I just recorded what was happening. I pulled up afterburner to show there is no overclock and to use the performance charts. Also pulled up task manager and the clock to show the time. At about the 2:15 mark everything starts going up. At the same time. conhost.exe pops up. There was already one running but this one pops up right when the GPU usage % starts rising.

Seems like a GPU miner trojan to me, scan your rig.
