Hello all! So I just purchased a Dell Precision 15 5000 (5510) and have been having some strange screen behaviors. 0725170716.thumb.jpg.01c6e59f39d84671155b8cb73d673f45.jpg

This is what it looks like. It seems to happen at random times and the computer is not crashed. The very top of the screen still works as normal because I can open Google chrome while in this state. If I turn it off and power it right back on again the screen becomes even worse and shows part of the Windows log in screen and the web page I had open beforehand (they're like overlayed). If I power off and wait a while before the restart then this problem goes away but very noticeable flickering occurs and then the precious problem persists.

I have updated all nvidia drivers and even the integrated graphics drivers before the screen did this  and the same thing happened shortly after restarting after i installed drivers.

I can't find any information on this problem and any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance!

Just now, stefanDB said:

if it is new you should probably RMA it because if you open it up you may break your warranty. it could be as simple as making sure that the internal cable between GPU and monitor is plugged in properly, but it could be a faulty GPU.

Thats what I was thinking of doing and that's also the first problem I thought of but I figured I would post it in case someone had a fix that I could do without breaking the warranty
