COD4 Resolution Keeps reseting

Ok so i started playing Cod4 (Steam) again recently and every time i launch the game i have to set my resolution to 1920x1080 i already tried going into my profile game settings and changing but it didn't work can anyone help me

By this, do you mean you're using a config file to set your resolution manually? If it's an external file, try setting it to Read Only (right-click > Properties). I don't know what's actually causing the problem, but this might work around it.
