New Build - No POST - Need help

Hello LTT forum!

 

First of all I would like to point out that I have read the README regarding no POST.

I am helping a friend build his new computer and we cannot get anything to show up on the display.

The MOBO LED's are turning on, GPU LED's are turning on, both chassis fans turn on, CPU fan turns on, but nothing is displayed. I plugged in a keyboard to see if I could force it into bios and the keyboard LED's light up as well, I am also able to turn caps lock on and off.

 

 

Here are the specs:

i7-7700k

16GB (8x2) Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHz

Asrock Z270 Extreme4

Corsair RM750x

Samsung 850 Evo 500GB

Samsung 840 Evo 500GB

GTX 1080ti

Fractal Design Define C

 

Here are the steps we have tried:

- both RAM sticks in slot A1 B1 - reseated as well

- both RAM sticks in slot A2 B2 - reseated as well

- Single RAM stick in A1, A2, B1, B2. (both sticks tried)

- All cables reseated in MOBO

- All cables reseated in PSU

- Different combinations of CPU-fan headers and CHA-fan headers (CPU fan in both CPU1 and CPU2 spots, etc.)

- All Case connectors reconnected

- HDMI on MOBO

- DVI on MOBO

- HDMI on GPU

- Displayport on GPU

- Without GPU

- CMOS Battery removed

- Only 1 SSD

- Both SSD's

it's just GPU not mobo you don't plug into mobo when you have a gpu in.

i'm asking this because if you can turn capslock on and off it's most likely you're fully booted just not seeing the image

I tried the MOBO connections without GPU installed, to try and rule out the GPU being faulty :-)
