So I'm starting uni this year in Hungary, but in a different city. That brings me to this topic; I need a laptop. I'm looking at the Dell inspiron 7000 series, which in the US costs around 800 usd, but no joke it costs 1.5x as much in my country... Seeing that makes me wonder, is there like a service or a store that does world-wide delivery? I'm a real noob when it comes to online shopping, I'm more of a "go to a store and buy stuff" type of guy. :D

Hey,

You could always try something like amazon or ebay, however you have to remember that there is import tax on items and, especially in the case of electricals, you may find you are paying quite a bit for this as although they are cheaper in other countries, it then costs a bit to import. Another thing to bare in mind is the further it travels, the higher the risk of damage, therefore, I would advise getting it from a reputable source which you know will repair or replace it if it is broken in shipping

Hope this helps,

TT

Amazon.de recently started offering free shipping to a number or European coutries, not sure if Hungary is one of them but if not, shipping will only be around 5 euros. I'm in Sweden and I shop from there all the time. Personally though, I would never buy a laptop from abroad because of the different keyboard layout we use in Sweden. Not sure how the Hungarian one looks though so you might be fine, depending on where you're buying from, but still something to keep in mind when shopping for a laptop.

Thanks, I guess I'll look into those to begin with. Hungarian keyboard layout is different from standard, but I'd be okay with standard. :D I have a few months so I can do some research I suppose.
