Feedback/help on a new build

Hello everyone,

I wanted to know a couple things:

1) Will this be a good gaming pc that will be powerful, but also very quiet?

2) Would it be better if I took an i7 or a Ryzen cpu for better gaming performances? (I'm NOT planning on doing steams or content production stuff like editing, etc)

I'm also not planning on buying it very soon (I already have a pretty good pc), so will it maybe be better to wait for a Vega gpu or something else?

I can never advise an i5 with a gtx 1080 but if you are planning on doing streaming or anything similar to that i would advise ryzen. You stated you were considering an i7 in that case the ryzen 7 1700 is your best choice up until someone comes in here and says that intel is better at some stuff that is single threaded

I'm only intersted in gaming. So if I take a gtx 1080 or 1080 ti, it would be much better to take an i7 or a ryzen 7 for better performances now and in the future?

oh well in that case 7700k is the best gaming chip atm, there might be an argument that multi core optimisation is becoming a thing but for now i would say 7700k unless you fancy waiting for god knows how long

The argument that multi core games are becoming a thing has been around since the fx chips and still stuck with most games taking 2 or 3 cores at most. Games being coded to use more cores would be nice tho but don't think it is happening anytime soon. The x box 1 and ps4 had 8 cores each or something and yet nothing was really being optimized for over 2 or 3 cores. If they do tho fx chips might become usable again lol. Anyways one thsee days they should be optimizing for multi core but I don't see it anytime soon maybe after coffee lake or something when both amd and intel have 6 cores or more for mainstream atm 6-Core intel cpu's are $600+ I think. No reason for company's to spend money for optimization games for more then 2 cores or so when most the gaming rigs are only running 2 or 4 core cpu's from Intel.
