Trying to upgrade pc from OEM case and motherboard but can afford to buy all the pieces at once. Linus talks about "Future proof" items that generally stay from build to build, PSU, Case. Heatsink. I currently have a nice PSU, 650w Bronze ThermalTake Smart, but my case, mobo, and heatsink are all proprietary and crappy. Which budget case and heatsink would you say are more "future proof" than others, by that I mean they are not likely to become unusable and are compatible with most other parts on the market. I'm neither a size queen looking for micro mini builds or performance junkie, I just like clean, non-gamer aesthetic.

I'm thinking for case, maybe a small mid tower free of legacy hardware such as disk bays. for heatsink I really like the either hyper 212 evo or Vortex

souds great

this is gonna make you cringe, but I'd like to spend no more than $50 at a time on each part, I am willing to wait for good deals so I could get that $100+ case on sale. Its really hard upgrading an OEM because I can only salvage cpu, harddrive, gpu, and PSU.

that's nice, but I think the blue is a little overstated for my build, im not exactly rocking a 1080ti windforce, I like to match parts with there intended range.
