Hey guys so i bought an amd freesync monitor but when i go into radeon setting it says that amd freesync is not supported and i have been looking in the monitor setting and i cant find the option to turn on freesync. Is it my graphic card i have a asus r9 380 strix 4gb but on the amd site it says that all r9 300 series support freesync. I reinstalled the gpu drivers and still nothing i have the monitor and gpu connected via hdmi port but i have a display port on my gpu but not on my monitor do i have to connect the monitor to the display port for freesync to work but the i would need a cable on one side hdmi and on the other a display port i dont know has anyone any ideas.

Did you check the AMD website?

It needs to be display port. There's no way that's a freesync monitor and it doesn't have a display port.

I just researched that monitor and apparently, it's FreeSync over HDMI. I didn't even know this was a thing yet. Anyway, do you see this in your Radeon settings?

Yeah it supports hdmi i see it but it says its not supported.

Contact AMD or Asus support and see if they can help you

omg i am such an idiot lol i tried clicking "More" before but i pushed the little joystick to the right and it was not opening it but now i accidentally pushed the joystick down and it opened a new menu with freesync in it thank you and all the guys that helped.
