So I am looking to buy a laptop to use for mild gaming and heavy 3d modeling. I dont care too much about I/O options. I want to choose from one of the following configurations:

GTX 1050 ti ----- i7-7700hq ----- ~$1000

GTX 1060 ------ i5 6300hq ----- ~$1000

or possibly

GTX 1060 ----- i7 7700hq ----- ~$1150

I am not sure if the extra $150 is worth it for both the upgraded CPU and GPU. I am looking to get around 4-5 years out of this laptop and I do not want to spend more than 1150 on it.

Which configuration is the most suitable for my needs? Any input is appreciated, and if you have any specific laptop recomendations I would be intested. Thanks!

(I have been looking at the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming, and the Asus FX502VMs)

If your planing to spend 4 to 5 years with it then I would invest now. The high specs you get now will equate to more life span out of the hard ware in it. 3d rendering would also require both a good cpu and gpu so I would recommend you spend the extra on the i7 with 1060.
