Posted June 11, 2017 So I am looking to buy a laptop to use for mild gaming and heavy 3d modeling. I dont care too much about I/O options. I want to choose from one of the following configurations: GTX 1050 ti ----- i7-7700hq ----- ~$1000 GTX 1060 ------ i5 6300hq ----- ~$1000 or possibly GTX 1060 ----- i7 7700hq ----- ~$1150 I am not sure if the extra $150 is worth it for both the upgraded CPU and GPU. I am looking to get around 4-5 years out of this laptop and I do not want to spend more than 1150 on it. Which configuration is the most suitable for my needs? Any input is appreciated, and if you have any specific laptop recomendations I would be intested. Thanks! (I have been looking at the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 gaming, and the Asus FX502VMs)
Posted June 11, 2017 Bottom one seems worth it to me. M1 MacBook Air 256/8 | iPhone 13 pro
Posted June 11, 2017 If your planing to spend 4 to 5 years with it then I would invest now. The high specs you get now will equate to more life span out of the hard ware in it. 3d rendering would also require both a good cpu and gpu so I would recommend you spend the extra on the i7 with 1060.
