RAM choices (Send help)

Hi,

 

I am in a metaphorical pickle right now, I am soon going to be upgrading to a Ryzen based system and am wondering what RAM is good. I will be mainly gaming, but I will be doing basic video editing and potentially streaming.

What RAM would you recommend at a decent price? (Please note price in your recommendation)

Try to get at least 16gb, also fast ram helps Ryzen alot. 

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

I found a 2x8 GB kit of Corsair Vengeance LED(White) RAM rated at 3000 MHz, would this be good for a system like this?

Before running off and buy any bling bling stuff... Check if the ram sticks are on the Motherboards Compatibility list.

 

Makes no sense buying something, that won't work with the other parts...

I checked, and the kit I want does fit my Motherboard.

there are specific "certified" working ram modules in a list provided by the mobo manufacturer.

 

Rams are "tricky" sometimes. Especially overclockers ram. There are set standards in specs that for example ddr4 sticks need to have to work 100%.

Ram manufacturers sometimes go above and beyond those standards to get their speeds they advertise with. more agressive timings etc that the specs ask for. 

 

So this is why certain modules won't work in certain boards. That's why the mobo manufacturers post compatibility lists for ram they tested.

 

Using ram that's not listed on them, is pure luck mostly, if you don't use sticks that 100% fulfill the ddr4 specifications.

 

This can bring you back here with a "help me! bsod all the time but all is ok i checked"

check my guide, don't be fooled by incompatility and manufacturers releasing Ryzen branded ram, its a gimmick at best
