Today I bought a 2tb WD black. Plugged it into my pc and checked the bios. It was there. Booted into windows and went to disk management. The drive wasn't showing up. Did some stuff with Hiren's boot cd and got the disk to show in disk management. The disk was in RAW format so I clicked on format and selected ntfs. Got the error "The format did not complete successfully". Tried to click on remove volume. Gives an error about the drive not existing. Restarted pc and went to disk management. Drive was not there. Ran the intel storage utility thingy and it gave and error. Simply clicked ok and restarted again. Drive was showing again in disk management (RAW format again). Tried to delete volume. Same error again. Restarted drive was gone in disk management.

And you basically get the point right?

Is the HDD broken or am i doing something wrong?

Just tried the hdd on another pc. On the first boot got an error about "s.m.a.r.t status bad" or something like that. And on the second boot when I got into windows I tried to format the disk in disk management but got the same error as on my main pc.

99% sure the disk is broken.
