I'm helping a friend build a pc and he wants to reuse the ram its Hynix  HMT351U6CFR8C-PB N0 AA  1239

 http://www.skhynix.com/products/computing/view.jsp?info.ramKind=20&info.serialNo=HMT351U6CFR8C

We have decided to go with the ASUS M5A97 R2.0 motherboard will this ram be compatible?  I believe its non ECC memory and ASUS says a different stick with similar specs of hynix ram will work, I know manufactures can't test all the ram out there but are there good chances it will work wit the new mobo?

Thanks for the help in Advance

It should work as I am using ram that is not in the certified memory list on my board (Z87-A) and it has no problems. Those ram that are listed by Asus says that it is verified to work. If it doesn't work, you could try using the MemOK! button on the board to see if it will detect it and adjust its settings to make it work.

I also run ram which isn't on my boards compatibility list and it works fine, Just my friend has been really concerned about it. I didn't realize that asus boards had MemOk, Thanks for the suggestion.
