Power Supply cable switch

Go to solution Solved by quan289,

A 6800k + 1050Ti? Feel free to overclock both of them on that EVGA 550w G2.

Save some money and get the Corsair CX450M or EVGA Supernova 450 B3 for your parents.

Anyways, to answer your cable question, the cables of the 550w G2 will work with the 750w G2.

Hi!

I'm building my parents a low tier, basic computer.

I'd like to take this opportunity to upgrade my own 550 watt PSU to a 650 or 750 just because I'm using a 6800K and would like to maybe overclock it in the future.

SO I'm gonna put my 550 watt into my parent's computer, and buy a 750 watt for myself.

I'd like to not have to take out all the cables I already have managed in my current case, so I'm curious if it's wrong to use the 550's cables with my new 750 and visa versa?

EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 750W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply / EVGA - SuperNOVA G2 550W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply )

or any other advice like I could overclock my 6800k with a 550 watt PSU no problem?

or should I be getting a micro ATX power supply for my parent's build and not reuse my ATX psu?

thanks for the help!
