iPhone 5s: Freezing/wifi issues...replacement!

I went to the Apple store yesterday because I had a quick question. I asked about the issues with the iPhone 5s freezing and some of the wifi issues.

The lady said that in most cases even if the iOS version is at fault, they replace the phone. So no matter what the issue is; I can pretty much say anything and since the 5s is so new its still covered under the 90-day no questions asked warranty.

So most likely I will get a replacement tomorrow. Pretty cool considering that the freezing is most likely able to be patched and the wifi isn't that big of a problem.

That's only true until your extremely short warranty expires...

But as soon as that 90 day time period runs out they charge you $99 for a support phone call, even if nothing is fixed.

Well I think this time around I might jump on the $100 apple care plan for giggles. I got a deal on my Macbook Pro where the Apple Care only cost $150 on that and they replace whatever I want no questions asked.

The support is expensive but its pretty amazing. Kinda like BMW. Once the warranty runs out it costs an arm and a leg to maintain. As long as you are covered its pretty awesome.

Good new everyone! THEY REPLACED IT.

I explained my problem to the guy at the Genius Bar and he said he had never heard of it. I also threw in that the wifi was "slow" even though it wasn't.

He went in the back and brought back a sort of OEM looking box. He said when they replace an iPhone it doesn't come with any accessories.

If you have any issues with your 5s or 5c, take it into the Apple store and have them replace it. +1 for Apple's generosity.
