App default keeps reseting

Hi, recently windows 10 keeps reseting my app default for both music and video files to their own app. The default before it was reset is vlc media player

what does it get reset to?

if it keeps resetting to Windows Media Player or Groove Music, uninstall those two programs (theyre garbage)

Built in Windows default, I know there are not good but would prefer it as spare and to make sure all functions works. Like QuickTime is required for some program to work (I know QuickTime has security issues on Windows)

The problem is that VLC uses legacy file association code that Windows no longer support.

If you try with a different software like iTunes you'll see that you don't gave the problem.

 

I suggest you manually do your file association through Windows for VLC.

Did you mean reset back the default program back to vlc?
