I wouldn't go any higher on air, on water maybe 1.35.

i change it from msi ab but in order to go any higher i have to flash the bios. just wondering if its worth the hassle

You can give it a go but you have to remember you have VRMS that also get hot and this will cause it the throttle too.

 

My 8350 does if I don't turn my fans up on heavy tasks, its sitting about 60c but the VRMS push up and over 120c if I don't keep the air flow up.

what cooler do you have? the bios will be limited to 1.3v i suspect.

also i have my fan curve set to reach 100% by 75c. if i raise that to 90 i will be able to have my fans at a much lower speed.

i dont need to, a bios mod would be enough. the Polaris voltage delivery is pretty good
