Ubuntu Hard Drive install

Hi,

 

I am trying to install ubuntu to a hard dive (Internal). What program can I use as rufus only installs to usb. Thanks

you need to put the ISO onto a usb (rufus) or cd and then boot from that to install.

I don't have a usb to hand, can I just boot from a hard drive. As in I want to create a bootable hard drive

Ubuntu iso needs to be downloaded then written to a usb drive made bootable using rufus SW or written to CD made bootable THEN

you reboot pc with usb/cd inserted and Ubuntu installs to HDD.

Yes but can I write to the hdd in the first place

no, Ubuntu like windows has to be installed from cdrom/usbdrive so the operating system can setup chipset and drivers that are unique to your pc build. this is why you can not just download an OS to an HDD or SSD and expect it to work because PC's are different
