S12ii is the better one, IMO. You shouldn't need 620W of power though, unless you're running dual GPU or have a ton of hard drives. Maybe look for even better quality, 500-550W?

it is, hierarchy here goes

cxm grey > s12ii (due to s12ii's S H I T protection chip and dated design) > cxm green

idk

S12II is quite good. CX500M isn't as good, not just in value but also in performance. Try to look for CX550M with the grey label, new design and new manufacturer.

But they are in the same tier, so, little or no difference.

How is cx550m(grey) better? You've already told about the protection circuit.

CX500M is a off the shelf CWT design (same as the reference design) and has worse voltage regulation and lower efficiency than the CX550M, which is a custom design by CWT for Corsair.

I could go more in depth on why the CX550M is better in terms of voltage regulation and generally design, but that's a different story.

(keep in mind that CX750M and 850M are NOT based on the custom CWT design, instead on CWT's PUQ B design, which is actually not bad.)

idk

Will I have any serious problems if I use the SeaSonic or the cx500m?

Shouldn't, both are very reliable units. If you're using really shitty parts or heavy OCing, I wouldn't recommend either, but they're both very good mid-end units.

May be worth waiting to see how good the replacement coming soon is however: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/seasonic-revamps-psu-product-lines,33363.html

How much is heavy over clocking? 1GHz?

Right now my build has to have:

Ryzen 5 1500x

MSI GTX 1050 Ti gaming

2HDDs

3 case fans

Will it still cause problems?

That doesn't necessary mean little or no difference, an inherent flaw with a tertiary system like mine. The CX550M is on the same tier as the S12 due to it's choice of fan bearing (sleeve, which I despise in PSUs), though it otherwise performs much better than an S12 electrically.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

No, like 125W CPUs being pushed to 200+W, etc.

Also, get the 1600 and push it to 4Ghz instead, and get a 470. 470 is so much better than 1050Ti, look it up

idk
