[SOLVED] [ISSUE] Wi-Fi problem windows

Hello,

I have an Asus Vivobook (TP301UA) and this morning my wifi option was dissapeared from my taskbar. I went in to 'network connections' and saw that the Wi-Fi adapter was greyed out, so it was somehow turned off. I tried to turn it on, but it didn't work, it remained grey.

So after some googling, they told me FN+F2 would switch it back on. It didn't. No FN+F* combination could switch my Wifi on. And It didn't have a physical switch too. Later, someone suggested me to remove the drivers from device manager and reboot my system. I did it, and now the Wi-Fi option is completely gone in 'network connections'. It shows up on device manager, but the WiFi option is completely gone.

I've also tried updating the drivers, didn't work either.

fyi; network connections can be reached with right clicking the windows icon, then right clicking network connections.

how did you try to update the drivers? are there currently drivers installed for it?

Yes, I went on my pc and downloaded the drivers on a usb, then transferred them over to the laptop. All wifi drivers are up-to-date.

so the drivers you downloaded come from this: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25798/Wireless-Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10

and you downloaded the 64 bit version not the 32 bit? you have to download this specific version because the newer versions are not for that chipset.

Yes, I have the correct ones installed. I double checked everything. No luck. My laptop has no symptons of wifi. It's like there is no wifi card in it.

what is the filename of the driver you installed? (sorry for focusing so much on this but its about the only thing that could fix it). have you tried the driver that was included with the installation disc for the system?

It's a notebook, so it has no cd player. And the file 'WLAN_Intel_Win10_64_VER19103.zip' was installed.

IS there a physical button? Have you tried to force a command to turn back on wifi?

There is no physical button. I've read the manual and it didn't help much. And no FN-F* key combination helped. I don't have that function. FN-F2 only enables airplane mode, but that's switched off.

And I'm not sure what you mean by trying a force.

that version is not for your chipset. download this version: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25798/Wireless-Intel-PROSet-Wireless-Software-and-Drivers-for-Windows-10
