Hello everyone, I'm new to servers and I'm having issues getting my server to run:

- i5-6500

- 16gb DDR4 RAM

- Asus Z170 Pro-Gaming motherboard

- Samsung 850 EVO SSD

- Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise

The issue here is that I cannot install anything on the system. The motherboard CD doesn't support the OS and I cannot find any support for Windows Server 2008 online. I've tried downloading the Intel driver for the board from Intel but it still doesn't work. I tried adding a wireless card and installing that driver but it still doesn't work. Is it because Windows Server 2008 is out of date and I shouldn't be using it anymore because there are no more support? Or do I need to get an actual server motherboard? I was able to install Windows Server 2008 because I got the DVD from Microsoft and I have the CD-key that I just need to verify by connecting to the internet. But since I literally cannot install anything on this server I'm stuck. I don't even know the problem to be able to solve it. Any help would be great and let me know if you need any other information.

Thank you!

wasnt there a something something about skylake only "supporting" windows 10?

that said, just fish up drivers for windows 7 if you can find them, they *should* work under windows server 2008 R2 because under the hood they're essentially the same OS just with different features enabled or disabled.

Thank you for your help, I tried but it still didn't work... I'm guessing I either have to downgrade the CPU or upgrade the Windows Server at this point.
