Hello , my mic have a static brackground noise no matter front or rear port  . Would it get fix with this cheap usb soundcard https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8. .

Im concerned about a possible loss of sound quality?. My mobo is a asrock h87m pro4 . I would like to plug my earphones there too .

What microphone is it? Is your gain high?

Mic is fine . I tested with others and it happens the same . The problem is a electric interference inside pc , is quite common especially on front jack .

My doubt is if the usb soundcard i listed would degradate the soundquality , because im sure it will remove the background noise .

It would most likely degrade sound quality Aux to digital conversion is a bit complicated and small things like that won't work. If you're that concerned about it I would get a DAC

well that's not true in the slightest.

It's unlikely the onboard pre-amp is any better than what is in something like the sabrent usb DAC. However, it seems you're pinning the blame on internal interference, which isn't impossible, but if it's consistent over multiple devices then it's probably just a poorly designed mic. If possible try a different mic on the same input and see how that works for you.

You got me wrong . I mean that i tried plugging several mics  in the pc with the same result  .

I bought this sabrent usb card , will have it in a few days . I will report how it goes .

Thanks

The Sabrent will likely fix your issue, interested to hear if it does. It should not impact your sound quality in any meaningful way.

If it does not, then the problem is at your wall outlet and fixing it will be more difficult... or your machine is just throwing off a ton of EMI and overwhelming the filter that is built into a USB card.

Wow you guys don't know any audio engineering do you? If that was true, and the Sabrent doesn't degrade audio (which I used previously and it did), No one would ever buy a nice DAC or any external sound kits. This, as stated, is simply an adapter and isn't meant for people who care much about sound quality. Please don't give information, this forum is mean to help not hinder.

@Sybre Everything in the universe is a grey area. Based on the OP, are you going to assume he's attempting something that requires true high quality audio or are you going to assume (as I did) that he just wants to get rid of the obvious EMI problem his PC is throwing at him.

To a lay person (and for the record I am not an audio engineer, not even close) the gain from the USB adapter is going to massively outweigh the quality loss most of the time. Since there's no need for professional level audio, the 10 dollar fix is all it takes.

So sure, my goal was to reassure the OP that the loss in quality would be minimal between the rear port and the USB. I believe that is true (the loss is minimal). That does not mean you can't get stunning sound quality out of a dedicated DAC/AMP and mixer.

Anyway, I am not saying you're wrong. In fact, I have no doubt that you're correct. I simply don't believe the OP cares as much about sound quality as he does about reducing the static to an acceptable level on a tight budget. I am curious to know if I am correct though in my assumption. I'd be happy to retract it all if @LinCeX says he's aiming at quality sound and willing to spend the money to get there :D
